The Evaluation Systems(ES)group of Pearson provides full-service design, development, and administration of standards-based educator licensing assessment programs on behalf of state licensing agencies across the country.

The Chief Test Administrator (CTA) is ultimately responsible for pre-administration arrangements and for the implementation of the entire testing administration at his or her site. The CTA ensures that the test site is set up according to the details outlined in the site specifications sent from Evaluation Systems. The CTA trains and supervises all on-site testing staff. In addition, the CTA is charged with ensuring the security and confidentiality of all testing materials and procedures. The CTA reports to the Project Manager in Test Administration Services at Evaluation Systems.

Qualifications

Individuals serving as Chief Test Administrators must possess the skills and experience to manage the logistics of conducting large-scale test administrations and maintain test security at all times. This includes:

  • Ability to ensure that all administration procedures are executed properly and in a timely manner

  • Ability to train, assign, and supervise testing staff and work with Pearson HR recruitment team on successful hiring numbers.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and maintain materials in a methodical manner

  • Ability to follow explicit directions and adhere to program procedures

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality of testing materials and examinee personal information

  • Ability to work well and maintain order under pressure
